What's new:
• SAM 4.5.1
- Fixed Segment Loader errors when Intercept loads
- Fixed floppy swapping problems during installations
- Fixed problems with Installer-aware feature during Mac OS 7.6 installation
- No longer installs old versions of SAM Virus Definitions or SAM Virus Help over newer
ones
- Startup Disk Builder no longer requires that the Disk Tools disk be so named
- Fixed problems when SafeZone is on but Intercept is off
- Fixed problems when Prevention is set to None
- No longer attempts to mount a volume with the Internet Config download folder if it is
off-line
- Fixed slow scanning of large applications
- Changed name of SAM QuickScan File so older versions won't overwrite it (or vice
versa)
- Fixed conflicts with various applications: PeachTree, MacMoney, AppleOrder
- Scans all Microsoft Word and Excel documents regardless of file type
Known conflicts:
- With FaxSTF 3.2.3 enabled, SAM quits unexpectedly while attempting to update Virus Definitions. Before attempting to update Virus Definitions, temporarily disable FaxSTF by selecting "Turn Fax Software Off" from the FaxMenu.
Important Notes:
- The patcher does not update the SAM 4.5 Read Me file in the SAM Folder. You should
copy the new SAM 4.5 Read Me from the SAM 4.5.1 Patcher folder to ensure you have
the latest version.
- If you have Suspicious Activity monitoring enabled, numerous Suspicious Activity Alerts
will appear when you run the patch program. This is normal and you can click "allow" to
continue.
- You cannot apply this patch to the files on your SAM Install diskettes. Changing anything
on these diskettes will cause the Installer to fail on any subsequent installation attempt.
Only update installed copies of SAM.
- If you changed the name of any file this patcher updates the patcher program will change
it back.
- File creation dates are not updated. If you are accustomed to checking the version of the SAM Virus Definitions by its creation date provided by the Finder Info Box you will not see the correct date. To obtain the correct version of the SAM Virus Definitions look at the splash screen during the launch of SAM. Another option is to choose edit Virus Definitions from the tools menu of SAM. The dialog that appears displays this information in the lower left hand corner.
